Re:Design

Thursday, May 11, 2006

I tend to re-design my blog quite often. I get bored easily.

In this current design template I have tweaked, I can not figure out how to get my header right up to the top. Any ideas?

Well, with all of my expertise I'd have to say, "no, no I don't have any ideas" :)

That might be the space for the Blogger NavBar. Even though it's hidden, the page source is showing a height of 24 pixels for the NavBar. I'm not sure if that's something you can adjust in the Blogger template. It's the first thing after the opening Body tag.

Pernell I like this one a lot.
i like the titles for each post better than the last one, and that is a cool picture too.

Good idea about the blogger nav bar, i didn't even think of that.

Leslie - thanks for niothing :)

Ian - when I am in the template, the height of the NavBar says "0px". Weird huh?

I just tried a different template and it's doing the same thing. I need to do some research when I have time.

    There you go.

    FYI,

With the header at the top I can see the image in Internet Explorer [which I am forced to use at work].

When the header is removed, like on the cohort blog, the image is missing when viewed in IE.

I know you say best viewed with Firefox.

    Just so you know.

Glad it is figured out. Looks great. Now I have a question about mine. At the risk of sounding like an idiot I am trying to get rid of the separation between my header and main content. I have messed around with it and can't figure it out. If you can help email me please!

Al - I am trying to fix that. Thanks.

Leslie - I just dropped you an e-mail.

have you tried actaully deleting the nav bar instead of not displaying it? Its still showing up in your source code and might make a difference.

    Peter

ps- I like this design too. A header picture is always nice. And if you ever get bored of bloggers templates you could switch to wordpress, a ton more options for custumizing.

Yep it's the navbar, but I'm not sure if you can delete it without breaking Blogger TOS - worth looking into.

I like the design and am glad you're blogging. :)
